Preschool Policies and Information for Parents

Children will range in age = from three years (if toilet trained) to kindergarten entry. There will= be up to 13 children in each preschool group, with one licensed teacher and a teacher’s assistant.

Half Day Session (79 month) 3 – 5 years old

Tue/Fri. = A.M. session = ; &n= bsp; 8:15 – 11:15 a.m.

Tue/Fri. = P.M. session = &nb= sp; 12:15 – 3:15 p.m.

Full Day Session ($147 month) must be 5 years old by Dec. 31^st

Mon/Thu = Full Day session = 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

Fees are due by the 15^=
th of the month. A monthly statement will be sent home in the weekly communication envelope the first Thursday of every month with your child. Payments may be m= ade through this envelope or you may pay at the church or school office. Tuition fees are as follows: $79 per month for half day se= ssions and $147 per month for full day sessions.

Registration fee is $50 = per family. This is a non-refundable registration fee that is to be paid at the time of registration. This ensur= es the child’s spot and covers some material expenses throughout the year. A waiting list wil= l be created when the program becomes full. This program will follow the = Holy Rosary School Admittance policy, as found in the Holy Rosary School Handbook.=

The site for the preschool = is at Holy Rosary School, 1043 Lake Ave, Detroit Lakes. Parents can telephone us at 847-5306 when needed.

In the event your child mis= ses a session (illness or vacation) no refunds will be granted, Parents must provide transportation to and from school.

Lunch is provided by the Ho= ly Rosary hot lunch program for a fee of $1.50 per meal. This is offered to the Full D= ay Class. Students will go out for recess after lunch.

Holy Rosary Preschool will provide milk at snack time. If your child has an allergy of any kind, a diet statement must be comple= ted in order to substitute an alternative. Diet statements are kept in t= he school office. A treat c= hart may be made up for students to bring healthy snacks.

Parents of children enrolle= d may visit the preschool any time during the hours of operation.=

No otherwise eligible child= shall be excluded from admission on the basis of race, sex, creed, color or = national origin.

Parents will be informed of= the child’s activities daily in addition to a written progress report that will be prepared in May. Private conferences will be offered in March. A summer home visit will be m= ade prior to the start of the school year to get to know you and your chil= d.

Illness and emergency care:= In the event your child becom= es ill, you will be notified by phone and asked to come for your child. The child will lie down on a = mat and blanket provided, away from others, but under direct supervision by staff.

In the event of a contagio= us illness, parents will be notified by a posted note or by phone. Parents must notify the pres= chool if their child should contract a contagious disease. Clearance from the childR= 17;s Physician that they are no longer infectious is required before they return to school.
Please do not bring your c= hild to school when he/she is ill or has a fever over 100.
The school will provide fi= rst aid as needed. Staff is trained in CPR and First Aid. If there is an emergency situation or if an injury should occur requiring medical attention, EMS w= ill be called.

When Holy Rosary and Detroit Lakes’ schools are clos= ed due to weather conditions, the preschool will also close. Tune into 1340 AM KDLM radio = or other local stations for the weather related announcements. Holy Rosa= ry School follows the same sch= edule as the Detroit Lakes Public Schools.

If the preschool plans to t= ake a field trip, we will secure written permission from parents prior to ea= ch trip (form 3).

Parents may review the HOLY ROSARY PRESCHOOL program plan on file from the teacher.

No personal belongings shou= ld be brought to school unless items are for the “Share Pail”. Some items to bring are an ex= tra change of clothing and a bag or backpack. Shoes must be worn at all tim= es. Please do not allow your chil= d to bring toys to school.

Full Day students’ supplies

Box of tissues, box of water color markers, 2 Elmer’s glue sticks, = small box of crayons, back pack – large enough for snow pants, One sp= iral notebook, pencil box – labeled, colored pencils, 16-24 count crayons, Fiskar scissors, 2- #2 pencils.
